GNS Mens

GNS Men compete in Sydney Hockey Association (SHA) competitions.  GNS Men have maintained a presence in SHA Premier League 1 (PL1) for over 20 years (since club foundation in 1998), the highest level club hockey competition in NSW.  Our PL1 team has featured in finals series on several occasions over the years however is still yet to crack the elusive premiership!

GNS has a history of developing young talent and state and national representation. International players that have worn GNS colours include Australian legends of the game, Jamie Dwyer and Brent Livermore.  Amongst our current playing group is former Australian U21 players Brinley Gallager and Robbie MacLennan, Australian O35 player Robbie Muir, Australian Indoor player Toby Dreyer and former NSW Pride squad member Nicholas Johnston.

GNS has also proven a popular destination for many elite players from overseas and has welcomed players from the Netherlands, Germany, UK, Ireland, India, France, Spain, South Africa, Pakistan and Argentina.

In 2020, GNS Men was thrilled to announce a collaboration with association neighbours Manly Hockey Club, forming the Manly-GNS partnership and a combined six mens teams:

Manly-GNS 2 – SHA Premier League 2

Manly-GNS 3 – SHA Premier League 3

Manly-GNS 4 – SHA Sydney League 1

Manly-GNS 5 – SHA Sydney League 3

Manly-GNS 6 – SHA Sydney League 6

Coaches

GNS Men are lead by the Mens Convenor, Adam Bracey and the Mens Coaching Director, Nigel Lynn.

The 2025 GNS PL men’s coaches are:

Manly-GNS 1 – Robbie Campbell and Mark McDermott (Spooka)

Manly-GNS 2 – Nigel Lynn and Ben Andaloro

Manly-GNS 3 – Scott Fallowfield and Craig Chapman

Preseason

GNS Men's preseason activities kick-off in January in preparation for the SHA season in late March- early April.  Preseason involves a combination of fitness, turf training, trials, practice matches and social events.

Training and home matches – Kuring Gai Hockey Centre, Kuring Gai Hockey School, Bobbin Head Road, Turramurra

Preseason training (Jan and Feb) - Tuesdays 7 to 8.30pm, Sundays 6 to 8pm at KHC

Regular season training (March on) - Tuesdays 7 to 8.30pm (all), Thursdays 8.30 to 10pm (PL1 and PL2) at KHC

Regular season matches commence in late March / early April.
