About

Gordon North Sydney Hockey Club (GNS) is one of the largest hockey clubs in the Sydney area and boasts a rich history tracing back over 100 years.

Our club is the only hockey club on the North Shore of Sydney that caters for junior boys and girls together with senior men and women. GNS prepares teams across a range of competitions so as to cater for players, coaches and support staff of all ages, gender and ability.

GNS maintains a significant footprint at Ku-ring-gai Hockey Centre (KHC), the home base for GNS Juniors.  GNS Men and GNS Women work closely with GNS Juniors, but train at more contemporary water surfaces, Keith Thompson Hockey Centre (Ryde) and Northern Discticts Hockey Complex (Pennant Hills).  Looking forward, GNS is keen to work with its partners to progress an upgrade of KHC.

One of the proud characteristics of our club is our focus on providing pathways for juniors to continue their hockey into adulthood.  Every season we are delighted to be able to accommodate emerging U15 and U17 talent in our senior teams.

Our top men's and women's teams compete in the premier divisions of Sydney hockey and our senior playing ranks include multiple state and national-level athletes.  GNS members also feature broadly in Northern Sydney and Beaches Hockey Association representative teams.

GNS has a proud history of higher representative achievement.  Former adult members include Australian legends of the game, Jamie Dwyer and Brent Livermore, pictured below.  GNS Women include former Hockeyroos, Anna Flanagan and Murphy Allendorf, as well a current Hockeyroo, Courtney Schonell.

GNS has also played host to a number of elite internationals in recent years including players from the Netherlands, Germany, UK, Ireland, India, France, Spain, South Africa, Pakistan and Argentina.
